OzHarvest Florist’s Make-In

Join new PFA president Lana Lichman and vice president Michelle Roberts at the markets on Saturday 23rd to create table centers for OzHarvest.

Come to the Sydney Flower Markets, Mileto Stand (stand 70) at 6.30am and ask for the PFA’s location or look out for for us right in the middle of the markets

See details from the Flower Growers Group of NSW below:

Each year Ronni Kahn and the gang from OzHarvest organise a massive dinner for the homeless and people in need.
This year it will be held on Monday 25th March.
Celebrity chefs will be cooking and corporate CEO’s will be serving a meal to almost 1500 people and will be held at The Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park.
Ronni has approached us ( through Joe Nati) to help out by way of supplying floral table arrangements, about 168 in total plus decorating the stage at Moore Park.
Their colour theme is predominantly yellow.
The committee of the Flower Growers Group will be asking Growers on Friday and Saturday (22nd & 23rd) to donate flowers but we need Florists/Students to come to the Flower Market on Saturday morning to make up arrangements in the middle of the market. These will then be delivered over the weekend.

AGM & Hat Workshop 2017- Sunday July 30

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your continued support of the professional florists association.without your continued support to us and our industry we would not be able to continue to run our  association we are completely funded by membership, sponsorship and functions. the PFA has been around since 1988 and we need your help and support to continue to advocate for our industry.
As our AGM is scheduled for 30th July this year I have attached a membership form for your membership renewal and outlined below the rest of the years demonstrations and workshops we have organised for our members and guests.
We are also in discussion with the dept of fair trading, in regard to the online order gatherer that is so prevalent now.we need to all educate our customers whenever we can and advertise ourselves as Real florists, it is getting out in the community, as i am asked now if i am a real florist, so this is good we need to keep going with this to make the consumer aware of what happens when they call the online gatherers
At our AGM I am hoping to have a speaker as well as the workshop in the afternoon, if you know of someone that would be informative for us and would give a talk please let me know or if there is anything you think we should be doing or can do to help you in your business again, let us know and we will try to direct your inquiry or problem.
Our AGM will be at 10am on sunday 30th july at the creative fringe in Penrith,  a speaker on marketing, branding, social media, and addressing the problem of order gatherers that are invading our business, ie megs sarahs etc, and how we can help stop them   followed by a workshop on hat creations with Cecily rogers, as many of you know Cecily’s creations are unique and amazing and you will be very inspired by her designs and this workshop the day will finish at 4pm.
We will also be having a workshop at kurri tafe again on the 24th September with marco apelfeller.marco will be in Germany during the month of august and will
bring items and ideas to our workshop that will be very new and unique, as everything that macro does !!! we have made this a Sunday so perhaps some folk from Sydney can also take the trip and get this great opportunity to work with marco. we will need bookings and final numbers for this workshop by the middle of august as marco needs to purchase the sundries from Europe and send them to us  the invitation for this will also be out very shortly to give you time to book you place.
We would love to see you at both these functions, give me a call anytime to discuss any matters you feel should be brought to our attention
thank you,kind regards
Joh Dickens
