In celebration of a fabulous year for the PFA and the start of the Christmas season 2013, the PFA hosted a sellout Christmas dinner and demonstration.
Our demonstrator was: Elzbieta Wakeham
Elzbieta is a full time teacher at The Northern Sydney Institute. Prior to teaching, Elzbieta owned a successful retail business in Drummoyne for 18 years as well as a function and event business. Growing up in a floral background, her natural ability and creativity clearly shows in her work and her confident approach.
Elzbieta created a beautiful array of Christmas designs with an eye on elegance, innovation and retail sale-ability. Her designs showcased seasonal products from the PFA’s sundry suppliers Qent and Apack. One of the favourite new products were Christmas crackers loaded up with a sneaky center of Oasis floral foam; perfect for table decorations.
Another surprise was Elzbieta’s cheeky use of a bunya fruit as an amazingly seasonally appropriate addition to one of her designs. This unusual fruit is available at the markets, check out the photos below to see whether you can spot it. Apparently the nuts are delicious when boiled too, perhaps this could be a new boxing day treat.
All of the designs were so well received there was a rush on tickets for the raffle. In all likelihood setting a record for the number of tickets in the running to take home a design.
The PFA would like to thank Elzbieta for sharing her gorgeous designs, expertise and contagious energy with us to carry us into the summer holiday season.
