What a fabulous night!
Hosted by The Flower Growers Group of NSW Inc., the Flower Grower’s Ball was held on October 26th.
This year the ball featured entertainment and floral design directed by PFA Vice President Michael Cordiero and the PFA executive team. All with beautiful flowers provided by the NSW Flower Growers Group of course.
The entertainment included a dance extravaganza performed by students from Westfield Sports High School. It culminated in a parade of ‘Fashion on the Field’ showcasing designs by PFA members, coordinated by Jo Dickens, Tiffany Dickens, Gail Anderson and Cecily Rogers.
Planning for the PFA’s involvement in the Floral Industry of NSW’s night of nights began well in advance with members working on a stunning set of wearable floral fashion pieces to show off the beautiful flowers provided for the event by The Flower Grower’s Group of NSW Inc.. These wearable floral art pieces were sensational.
Westfield Sports High School choreographed a new set of dances to suit the Spring Carnival theme and captivated the room. A special thanks needs to go to dance and drama teachers Michelle Holden and Emily Irelend and their talented year 11 and 12 students.
In addition, students from floral design schools across Sydney worked together throughout the day to design a stunning array of decorations for the venue. The floral design schools were headed by David Berger from Padstow, Lyndy Coburg from Kurri Kurri, Jeff Smith and Mary Fairlie Cunningham from Ultimo TAFEs and Barbara Pollock from Pearsons School of Floristry.
The PFA would like to congratulate The Flower Growers Group of NSW president Denis Secco and the committee who worked to create a spectacular night.
Look out for professional photographs of the head pieces to come! In the mean time here is a behind the scenes look at the day, from the morning to the event itself.
